Carbon monoxide is a colorless, tasteless and odorless gas that can be extremely toxic at high levels. It can be emitted from a number of different household appliances that burn fossil fuels. To ensure that you and your family are safe there are two big steps that should be taken for complete protection. First you should install a CO detector. This is just as important as a smoke detector, but senses a different substance. With the installation you should be sure to check it monthly to ensure that the alarm is working properly.
